What is Plein Air?

Originally developed by French impressionists, “Plein Air” was created to introduce a new style of painting landscapes outside with their subject in full view capturing all the natural light, movement and changes through out the day.
With Asheville Plein Air you become the artist and create an original painting in an outdoor workshop under the guidance and instruction of a experienced local artist. Your original art will be a cherished memory that you take home showcasing the beauty of Asheville and the unique experience of Plein Air. These workshops are held on-site at select boutique hotels, bed and breakfasts, downtown locations, breweries, along the French Broad River or a customized special location. Plein Air is perfect for those who would like to experience something new and different whether visiting for the weekend, a romantic holiday, weddings, family reunions, corporate retreats, or anyone who simply wants to expand their artistic skills in new environments.

Please tell us when registering your level of painting and sign on the Waiver and Release form-in order to participate in our workshops! There is a surcharge for credit cards, that has been added to your costs at book now/check out.
Weather and Cancellation policy...
If the weather is not cooperating you may choose a different day or we can offer you a full refund through PayPal or Venmo. Please check your email the night before for confirmation if the class is being held or not.
Our policy is if you did not attend the class or you did not give us a 24 hour notice stating that you needed to cancel, there will be no refunds but we are more than happy to help reschedule or offer a credit for future visits if you cancelled.
